Выявлены и проанализированы публикации на страницах газеты «Красный Крым», являющиеся источником по истории исследования культуры периода Золотой Орды в Крыму в 20-е гг. ХХ в. Систематизированы работы А.С. Башкирова, У.А. Боданинского, И.Н. Бороздина, раскрывающие особенности археологических исследований на территории Эски-Юрта (1924), Старого Крыма (1925—1926); деятельности этнографической группы научной экспедиции КрымЦИК и СНК.

In 1920s, in USSR scholars (especially historians) reported about their researches in party press. That’s why such media are valuable sources of historical information. So, the subject matter of my article is publications in newspaper “Red Crimea”, which are the source for the history of studies in culture of the Golden Horde period in the Crimea in 1920s. In this newspaper, set of studies of historians, archeologists and ethnographers Alexey S. Bashkirov, Ussein A. Bodaninsky, Ilya N. Borozdin revealing the features of archaeological and ethnographic research during this period were published for the first time. To study these works, I use source and textological analysis, biographical and chronological methods and methods of historical and intellectual reconstruction.
Archaeological discovery expedition for studying antiquities of the settlement Eski-Yurt was initiated by Council of People's Commissars of the Crimean ASSR. This research carried out in autumn of 1924 by the All-Union Scientific Association of Oriental Studies at the USSR Central Executive Committee and the Crimean Department for Museums and Protection of Monuments of Art, Antiques, Nature and Folk Life. For the provision of overall work plan, the committee headed by Ilya Borozdin was created. After thorough inspection of the territory and development of the further plan of the forthcoming study, its implementation was entrusted to Alexey Bashkirov and Ussein Bodaninsky. After topographic fixing of the territory of the settlement, the research work was focused on its western part, on the Muslim cemetery Kirk-Azizler (14th—15th cc.).
Expedition of Central Executive Committee of the Crimean ASSR and Council of People's Commissars of the Crimean ASSR carried out archaeological excavations in 1925—1926 in Stary Krym. It set the task of studying medieval culture of Solkhat based of the cultural artifacts. Scientific studies were initiated on the territory of the complex of Uzbek madrasah-mosque (the caravanserai area). Study of these objects helped to solve a set of historical, cultural, architectural, archaeological and epigraphic issues. There were presented historically reasoned and scientifically based conclusions on the development of the Golden Horde Crimean architecture, heredity, and connection with the Muslim architecture of the Asia Minor and the Byzantine centers. These statements were confirmed by subsequent studies. As a result of works, Solkhat appeared at the public and scientific world as an international center of high culture and significant medieval trading. The complex of monuments of Stary Krym became one of the priority objects of research with the aim of comprehensive study of the Golden Horde culture.
Ethnographic expedition organized by the initiative of the Crimea People’s Commissariat of Education, was complex and exploring. This explains the large radius of coverage and large number of surveyed settlements. The tasks included discovery of those areas or certain centers, where still untouched historic, home and folk material remained undamaged. All works were performed under the general supervision of Ussein Bodaninsky.
I conclude that publications of A.S. Bashkirov, U.A. Bodaninsky, I.N. Borozdin in the newspaper Red Crimea on the basis of expeditionary research in 1924—1926. (Eski-Yurt, Stary Krym, ethnographic data), despite their preliminary nature, are an integral part of the source base for the studying researches of the objects of the cultural heritage of the Crimea during the Golden Horde period in the 1920s. The comprehensive use of diverse groups of historical sources will help to restore complete and reliable picture of the development of monument studies in the Crimea.
