Представлена авторская методическая разработка семинарского занятия, призванная повысить заинтересованность курсантов ВУЗов МВД России в процессе обучения по специальности «Педагогика и психология девиантного поведения» и, как следствие, эффективность подготовки профессиональных социально-педагогических кадров по делам несовершеннолетних. Для максимального вовлечения обучающихся в работу на семинаре авторы предлагают ряд нестандартных, в том числе игровых и творчески-ориентированных, форм проведения семинарских занятий с привлечением произведений классической и современной живописи в качестве иллюстративно-обучающего материала.

Problem of cadets’ activity during seminar remains relevant for police social-pedagogical staff. Most often during the seminar, teachers use traditional forms of organization of students’ activity when they represent prepared report. As a rule, only minority of the best-trained cadets work during such seminars.
Our article presents lesson packet (training development for seminar lessons) on the subject ‘Education in the Family’ (discipline ‘Theory and Methodology of Upbringing’) among cadets of Russian Interior Ministry’s educational institutions. For our purposes, we used comprehensive basis of pedagogics and personal and social psychology. Besides, in our lesson packet, maximum activation of cadets of different level of preparedness is achieved through playing method, forms of group work, and case studies.
Law enforcement officers are meant to render assistance to family in upbringing of underage children. Study of topic ‘Education in the Family’ contributes to formation of necessary common cultural and professional competences, value-oriented qualities in future juvenile officers. So, practical significance of our topic is in specifying relationship between: (i) cadets’ group and frontal types of work during seminar; (ii) competence formed in cadets and method of its formation during seminar. Novelty aspect of our training development is in a set of suggested questions on the topic classes, including theoretical and practical components. Seminar-game ‘Blitz’ that includes a number of tasks based on plots of several classic and modern paintings on the theme of family, case studies with the only correct answer and the case studies offering creative solutions, is of particular interest in our lesson packet. Participants of this game are the six small groups, differentiated learning opportunities. These are: leading group, information group and four playgroups. The leading group includes cadets who have sufficiently low academic performance (training opportunities in the discipline). Function of this group is gaming. Leading group should read the questions; follow the rules of procedure; carry out transition course of the game; put of gaming groups in the table on the class-board. Information group includes cadets with high academic performance (higher educational opportunities). Task of this group is to prepare and read out correct answer in the allotted time. At the same time it has the right to use lecture notes and other sources. Comment of playgroups’ responses is not part of its duties. Four playgroups are group of players. These are mixed group of equal for strength that are of cadets of different educational opportunities (strong, medium and weak).
Rules of the game ‘Blitz’ are as follows: participants should (1) carefully to ask questions and listen; (ii) to discuss all the issues strictly within the time that the regulation assigns to it, respecting ‘code of teamwork’; (iii) to provide answers clearly, quickly and loudly; (iv) to observe discipline: do not be distracted by extraneous conversations; instantly switch from one activity to another; not contest the evaluation of results during the game.
Many years' experience in holding of seminars of such type, especially in orchestrations of class-game ‘Blitz’ on the subject ‘Education in the Family’ allows us to conclude that it is an effective tool for increasing cadets’ level of both learning material and interest to content and methodology of the seminar, as well as for improvement of psychological atmosphere during classes.
